The Secret Place of His Presence

In all of us there is a yearning for our Creator.  We were created to long for God, to yearn for His presence, whether we know it or not.  We were created to love and be loved, but we were also created to experience perfect love.  And that is something we can only receive from God.  It brings a peace of mind when we find ourselves in a difficult situation.  It also brings a joy unspeakable, a joy that the world will never understand and a joy that the world cannot give nor take away. It is an acceptance that's only found within God.
Regardless of your situation.

Psalm 26:1-4
1VINDICATE ME, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity; I have [expectantly] trusted in, leaned on, and relied on the Lord without wavering and I shall not slide.
2Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; test my heart and my mind.
3For Your loving-kindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth [faithfully].
4I do not sit with false persons, nor fellowship with pretenders;

Sometimes we find ourselves in situations and all we want to do is run away and hide away, instead of running to God.  David was a young, handsome, strong man and he was very talented on the harp.  This alone gave him alot of favour amongst leaders, and women.  So one can imagine that there was alot of people who was jealous of David, not just Saul.  Regardless, of all the attention he got from people David walked in integrity and he trusted and relied on God without even asking questions.  David knew that when he was in God he would not slide and he knew he could trust God with all his heart.  David allowed God to search his heart, because he knew that if there is doubt within his heart that it could mean the end of him.  The word of God is clear when it says that a man or woman who is double minded is like a wave being tossed around by the wind.  David made sure that God took away every form of doubt that might have been in his heart.

David made sure that he got to know God.  Remember, we can only trust someone we know and we can only know someone by spending time with that person.    David said in verse 3 "for your loving kindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth faithfully.
David could only have said this if he spend time with God, lived with God 24/7 and being in relationship with God.  David did not allow people to speak into his life who did not spoke Truth - the Word of God.  Verse 4 "I do not sit with false persons, nor fellowship with pretenders;"  David kept his mind and eyes on God.  David knew the  presence of God.  This was his key!!!!

Psalm 26:8
8Lord, I love the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells.

9Gather me not with sinners and sweep me not away [with them], nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
10In whose hands is wickedness, and their right hands are full of bribes.
11But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; redeem me and be merciful and gracious to me.
12My foot stands on an even place; in the congregations will I bless the Lord.

Verse 8 David loved the presence of God, he loved the habitation of God's presence.  In Ps 27: David says
1THE LORD is my Light and my Salvation--whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid?
3Though a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, [even then] in this will I be confident.
4One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.(A)
5For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock

All David asked of God is that he could dwell in His presence all the days of his life.  David lived in the presence of God everyday of his earthly live. All he wanted to do is to look at God and think about him everyday.  David knew that if he do this that God will take care of the rest.

We need to create a lifestyle of where we love the presence of God more than anything and that when trouble comes our way that we will not be shaken, but that we will continue to yearn and crave for the presence of God.  So many of us tend to look away from God and walk out of His presence and focus our attention on the situation.  The next thing that happens is that the presence of the specific situation overwhelms us.  We need to get to that place where our relationship with God is on such a level that we can say "Lord I trust you, because I have seen Your loving kindness before my eyes."

There is a song that says: "In the presence of Jehova, God Almighty, Prince of Peace.  Troubles vanish, hearts are mended, in the Presence of the King."

My friend it is only in the presence of God that we find perfect peace; it is only through spending time in His presence and getting to know Him, that we can truely say I TRUST YOU LORD.  When we are in the presence of God, He hides us in the secret place of His presence.  This speaks of an intimate place a relationship.  It's only through relationsip that we learn to be intimate with Him.

Psalm 84:1-2
"How lovely are Your tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!  Ny soul yearns, yes, even pines and is homesick for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out and sing for joy to the living God."

The more you spend time with Him the more You know and want to know Him.  We need to come to a place that if we do not spend time with Him that we become homesick and lovesick after Him.
My prayer is that you would find Him in the secret  place and that Holy Spirit would stir a hunger and a deeper yearning within your spirit to know Him, to be with Him, to love Him, and to worship Him.  Run to Him in your time of need.  Look to Him and not to the situation.  Let Holy Spirit overwhelm you and not the situation.

Blessings
